Round 4 of the Inaugural Swiss delivered another evening of intense chess battles. The theme of the night was clear: the higher-rated players showcased their expertise by either winning or drawing against their opponents in all six matches. Tariq is still setting the pace, maintaining an impressive unbeaten streak. His consistent performance has been a highlight of this tournament, proving that age is no barrier to success.
In the featured match, Denis Markov and Aaron Biscoe engaged in a tactical showdown with each player attempting to capitalize on advantages on opposite sides of the board. Markov consolidated the position and the win after a key moment depicted below.
In addition to the riveting matches, we’re thrilled to welcome two new members into our chess club: Paul Tatlow and Jacob Bartell. They are fantastic additions and we look forward to seeing them in future rounds and tournaments.
As we approach the finale of the Inaugural Swiss on Tuesday October 3rd, the competition is as fierce as ever. Stay tuned for more chess action and memorable moments in the round to come!
