Ever played a chess match against a titled International Master? Now is your chance!

IM Tom Bartell is returning to the Media Chess Club on Tuesday, July 9th, for a Simultaneous Exhibition. That’s right, it’s the Media Chess Club vs. the International Master! Let’s see if one of us can claim points for Team MC². Be sure to take notation against Tom so you can review it afterward, learn from his play, and keep it as a momento.

For those who attended Tom’s lecture last October, you know we are in for a treat. Please answer the one-question survey below to let us know if you are coming; it will help us order the right amount of pizza and setup the facility accordingly.

Tom is among the top chess players in the United States and is a professional chess teacher and coach–many of his students have gone on to achieve titles of their own. He earned the FIDE title of International Master in 2013 and is an elite talent in other strategy games including Go and Shogi. Tom is the owner of Main Line Chess & Games located in Paoli, PA where he teaches lessons and hosts Quads, board game nights, and scholastic events. We are incredibly lucky to have Tom visit our club!
