Markov Reigns Supreme in Mayhem Swiss!

The Mayhem Swiss tournament has wrapped up, and we have a champion! Congratulations to Denis Markov, who clinched the title with an impressive 4.5 points out of a possible 5.0. Denis’s final round draw against Andrew Fleming, who also delivered a strong performance, was a thrilling conclusion.

Learn Chess with Tony Durkin

Interested in learning chess or improving your skills? Tony Durkin has spaces available in his beginner adult class at Main Line School Night. This is a fantastic opportunity, especially for senior citizens. The course runs from June 3 to July 8, 2024, and costs $129. Tony is a wonderful teacher and great supporter of our club; if you know anyone interested please share this opportunity. Details and registration can be found here.

  • Next Week: Join us for our quad tournament with a G/25 + 5 sec delay time control. Each player will compete in three rounds.
  • Pizza Night: We’re planning another pizza night soon. Stay tuned for details!
  • Quarterly Blitz Tournament: Our next blitz event is on June 22nd at Whole Foods. Two sections (Open and U1500) with $300 in cash prizes. Register in advance here.
    • Date: Saturday, June 22nd, 2024
    • Time: Starts at 11:00 AM
    • Entry Fee: $20 by 6/14, $25 by 6/21, $30 on-site
    • Prizes:
      • Open: 1st ($100), 2nd ($60), 3rd ($40)
      • U1500: 1st ($50), 2nd ($30), 3rd ($20)
    • Extras: Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be provided. The event will last about 2-3 hours.
